Mechanical Properties Evaluation of Concrete with Crumb Rubber Particles used as Fine Aggregate

Crumb rubber is basically tiny particles produced from scrap vehicle tires. This crumbled into uniform with the help of shredders. In present work, an attempt has been made to utilize as a partial substitute fine aggregates in fabricating cement concretes. Concrete mixture cement, coarse aggregates, and water. Rubber size ranging between 0.297 0.250 mm are used proportion 5, 10 15% by weight partially replace aggregates. Grade 43 Portland used. Mechanical properties such compressive, flexural impact strength experimentally investigated. Further, dynamic characteristics damping ratio natural frequencies test samples different amounts crumb compared neat concrete samples. Experimental data for mechanical obtained curing water period 7, 14, 21 28 days respectively. Substitution results reasonable improvement resistance. A decrease compressive observed. addition improves property along frequencies.
